9.29.08 in pictures

As stated earlier, today it is official.

The lovely Malia sent me flowers. What a great sister!

Here's a close-up of the cards. I personally feel that congratulations are in order.

Now, what to do with this?

Are those earings too? I hear people have good luck unloading that kind of stuff on ebay...

nice of you to tell me you had a blog. I just happened to run across this on Corrine's blog.

Congrats, Betsy. May your life be filled with wonderful new opportunities and happiness. And cupcakes from Bristol Farms.

Jenny - yes, those are earrings in addition to the ring. I need to get the stuff appraised, and then I'm thinking ebay for sure.

Kristi - I like to be mysterious and make people work for it! Now that you've found me you can keep up to date on my totally exciting life! And no worries, you couldn't keep me away from Bristol Farms if you tried!

Definitely sell them and SAVE the cash (I was going to reccommend investing, but maybe not a great idea in today's market!).

I really wish I had a guy to set you up with. If I were a guy, I would ask you out. Hope all is going well for you. Don't be a stranger.

Ya know . . . luckily my wedding ring is non-traditional enough that I can wear it as a right hand ring. Shoot, I paid for it, and I really like it!

I took the diamond from my engagement ring and used the value from the scrap gold to turn it into a pretty little solitaire necklace as a gift to my sister when she graduated high school in June. I didn't tell her where the diamond came from, but it was a nice way to use the stone. After all, the diamond didn't do anything wrong!

Ebay it or have it reset as something nice for yourself.

My mom took the diamonds from her first divorce and turned it into a ring that I eventually got. I took the diamond from that ring and gave it to Lem to put into the ring he had made for my daughter, Chiya, when he proposed to her - a 3 generation diamond - completely forgotten that the 1st wedding ended in divorce! Didn't somebody say Diamonds are Forever?
